Big Dave's 4th of July Party

In case you didn't make it this year, Big Dave's 12th Annual Crawfish Boil was a blast. Here is a sampling of photos of the festivities!

This is Mike, our captain leading us on a 3 hour tour!

Ethan along for the boat tour of the Dam

Mike & Oscar head out on the river with him saying "FASTER DADDY!"

Ethan decided to go on Great Mabel with me & his mommy, Jamie!

Then the gals took it out with just adults!

Mamason & Libby stayed on shore to cheer Mommy on!

Then came the real deal when me, Lindsey, Salina & Elizabeth all took the hardest ride with everybody getting thrown but Lindsey (but her husband was driving the boat)

Evelyn & Uncle Justin waiting for fireworks!

Harrison working on his Michael Jordan tongue!

me & my daddy in our annual shot!

our friend Tim & his daughter Chelsea

Oscar loving his sparkler...runs in the family!

"Look at that one Uncle Jim!"

Let the Fireworks begin, and this wasn't even the half of it...

Great party had by all...this year's theme "Good tings come to dem dat Honky Tonk!"

Flowers, Flowers

I've always taken pictures of pretty flowers & never did anything with them....so now I am going to post them. Enjoy!

I shot all of these in Brooklyn, NY (mainly Prospect Park & the Prospect Zoo) while visiting the Morehead family. I am hoping to make this a regular blog series! They are great for your desktop (& I can email you the pic if you want to have a bigger picture)!

Bodie Scott Moore

My brother Colin & his wife Molly welcomed their new son, Bodie Scott Moore on June 11, 2008. He was 18 1/2 inches and weighed 5 lbs 11 oz. but left the hospital at 5 lbs 13 oz. Here are some pictures taken at the hospital. We can't wait to meet him in a couple of weeks!

Oscar's new Playset

Here was Oscar's 3rd birthday present from us, Mamason/Paw Paw, & Grammy/Grampy. Mike and I took 2 full weekends to put this thing together! But it turned out great and the kids love it.

Bob the Builders hard at work!

this is the picture Oscar took with my digital camera...I think he did a pretty good job!

Oscar & Libby's quilts

I made Oscar's quilt for him when he turned one. We spent so much time outside that a picnic blanket was the perfect idea. I hand pieced this one & then had it longarm quilted by a lady in the Golden Triangle Quilt Guild (Beaumont). Plus he learned all about color and his fruits/vegetables! Couldn't ask for a better combo.

can you see Oscar's name?

PICNIC TIME!

When Libby turned one, she needed something just as special. The walls in her bedroom were really bare in the new house so I decided to do a combo wall hanging/lap quilt that showed off her growth. Hers is a Jan Mullen project I did at the International Quilt Festival 2007. I machine pieced & for the first time machine-quilted. Hopefully you can see the detail.

can you see Libby's name?

grow, Libby GROW!!!

My Funny Daddy

I was trying out my new Canon Digital camera and wanted to see how fast it would take pictures so I asked my dad to be the guinea pig. He had no idea I would post these, or he never would have posed. But just ask him, he is "ONE COOL DUDE!" and "ahead of the times!"

HAPPY FATHER'S DAY!!!
